Eastside Thrive is a plan to make Wilmington’s Eastside better over the next 10 years. Created with input from local residents and community supporters, this plan outlines the steps needed to bring the community’s vision to life and achieve its goals, while building on the foundation laid by the 2008 Eastside Blueprint Community Strategic Plan. While building new homes and renovating existing abandoned and decaying property, Habitat works with existing residents and local organizations to address the needs of the entire community.
We believe that decent, affordable housing plays a critical role in helping families create lives filled with possibility and progress. Through building affordable housing, assisting with critical home repairs for low-income homeowners, and engaging communities in neighborhood clean-up and beautification projects, Habitat is revitalizing blighted communities in New Castle County.

Partnership
Together with residents and community partners, neighborhoods are revitalized.
Habitat’s East Side Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative, which began in 2006, has included the construction of over 30 units of affordable housing to date and has impacted the lives of over 600 families with critical repair and beautification projects.

Rock the Block is an extension of our work to revitalize neighborhoods in New Castle County. One family, one block, one street at a time. Neighborhood residents team up with Habitat staff and volunteers for a one or two-day blitz to repair, refresh, and restore a neighborhood where Habitat is currently building. Questions? Contact Us.
